Temporary Housing
Mahaffey crews travel fully self-sufficient, with enough fuel, water, food, and shelter to live and work comfortably for seven days without re-supply. Our personnel pride themselves for quickly assisting those in need. Several times a year, Mahaffey establishes temporary housing sites for 5,000+ government and military personnel. In some cases, simple sleep structures or dining facilities are required. In these cases, a mobile kitchen provides hot meal service at breakfast and dinner. Box lunches are often provided each morning as personnel are deployed for the day. Call us at 877.463.3997. Our phone lines are answered 24 / 7 / 365. Experience After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the U.S. Gulf Coast, much of the infrastructure was no longer operational. While hurricane winds were still blowing, Mahaffey was activated to establish a series of housing facilities and base camps along the Gulf Coast. Our client was a division of the Southern Company, a utility that serves the region. Within 48 hours of arrival, Mahaffey completed the first 500-man camp, including temporary shelter structures with floors, sleep cots, air conditioning, lighting, power distribution, generator power, complete dining facilities, portable showers, and laundry trailers. In another 48 hours, two additional camps were established. After three weeks, the tree trimmers and utility linemen completed their reconstruction work, and FEMA personnel immediately moved into the structures to continue their work. Related Links: |
