The ideal worksite is wide open and flat - with easy access for our tractor-trailers and heavy equipment. Most sites have some sort of obstruction that should be disclosed during the site survey or before our crews arrive. When evaluating a site, it is important to be sure that there are no low hanging tree branches or overhead electrical wires. Below ground there are other hazards that must be marked by utility companies. These include irrigation pipes, gas transmission lines, electric wires, and fiber-optic cables. If you aren't familiar with whom to call, your Mahaffey Account Representative has "Dig Safe" phone numbers available for your state or province.
In many cases the worksite has larger obstructions as diverse as gaping holes in the ground 50' deep, industrial machinery, stately palm trees, or marble statues. Mahaffey can install your structure over most any obstruction provided that we have proper notice to prepare. If you aren't sure about the site conditions, or expect them to change - a frequent occurrence on construction projects - just let us know. We're used to uncertainty, and we can prepare for virtually anything. In fact, we've installed our structures on barges in the middle of the Ohio River, on the roof of downtown skyscrapers, and in the middle of U.S. Army artillery ranges. So give us a call - we're ready to make your challenge ours. |
