Mahaffey offers a variety of portable flooring products for virtually every
application. Choosing a specific floor material depends upon the existing
terrain and the weight carrying capacity desired. These items are preferred
for projects of a shorter duration, typically a year or less.
- Interlocking Hardwood Floor -- A steel and aluminum subfloor supports the
tongue & groove wood slats for this floor. Frequently the wood is polished
to a high sheen and doesn't need carpeting for high-end special events.
This floor is designed to lock to the fabric structure, eliminating the need
for anchor stakes in some situations. This floor is also used over terrain
features commonly found at golf courses, where it is installed perfectly
level using laser beams.
- Stage Deck Floor -- These 4'x4' sections of steel are topped with plywood.
The steel supports carry extreme weight loads and can be installed to permit
a car to drive over without damage. These sections are frequently elevated
to form performance stages, multi-level special event floors, or outdoor
viewing decks up to 16' high. Carpet is a necessity for special event
applications.
- Modular Wood Floor -- 4" x 4" wood timbers support the 3/4" wood deck of this
custom fabricated floor. Unless it is supported by steel scaffolding frame,
this floor is installed on the ground and shows any dips or rises in the
terrain. It is used by the military as-is or painted, and can be carpeted
for upscale applications.
- Thermo-plastic Flexi Floor -- These economical floors are used on asphalt or
concrete sites to provide a more finished interior appearance either with or
without a carpet overlay. The 3/4" height is designed to drain rainwater
beneath it, especially important for trade show exhibit structures.
- Bravo-Zulu Flooring -- These industrial floors are designed to support light
vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Light vehicles include cars, pickup
trucks, small man-lifts, and smaller forklifts with pneumatic all-terrain
tires. Bravo-Zulu floors have been used inside military vehicle
maintenance structures and beneath helicopter landing zones. Mahaffey
received a White House commendation after using Bravo-Zulu panels to build a
temporary road through a muddy military site for the President and his
motorcade.
Semi-permanent applications usually justify more permanent flooring
solutions including asphalt or concrete. Mahaffey's project management team
can specify and oversee the installation of these materials. The use of
asphalt surprises some people, but it is 100% recyclable and can be removed
post-project to leave no trace on site.
