Mahaffey is focused on manufacturing structures that can be installed quickly for temporary or semi-permanent use, then dismantled and relocated for another application - reusing 100% of the components. Other manufacturers are intent on selling a structure, without regard to portability and reuse. The primary fabrics supplied in our industry are either coated or laminated PVC, or woven polyethylene. In general, the heavier the material weight, the greater the expected longevity. Coated materials offer greater long-term durability than laminates and woven polyethylene. Cost differences among coated, laminated, and woven polyethylene materials reflect this difference.
A fabric-clad structure is no different than any other building that needs occasional maintenance. When repairing PVC fabric, a hot air gun may be used to quickly and easily make field repairs. When more intricate repairs are necessary, Mahaffey's keder designs allow a single roof section to be removed or replaced. Other designs require the movement and adjustment of the metal framework; many others require that the whole roof section be replaced. |
