Our temporary fabric structures can be erected on dirt, asphalt, concrete, wood decks or platforms, and in a non-staking fashion with a proprietary weighting system. Time-consuming and costly concrete foundations or footings are not necessary. The price of the structure includes anchoring attachments best suited for your particular surface. In rare cases, local building codes may dictate more stringent anchoring requirements that increase the price of the structure. More information on techniques used for each surface can be found below:
- Dirt: Our temporary fabric structures conform to the topography up to 7% grade slope differential. We utilize base plates that are held securely with steel stakes of 1" diameter and at least 40" long that are driven by an electric or pneumatic air hammer.
- Asphalt: Our structures can be installed directly on asphalt. An electric or pneumatic hammer, with a special sleeve adapter, drives the steel stakes through the asphalt. This adapter can be purchased or rented for the duration of the assembly period.
- Concrete: On concrete surfaces we calculate the reaction forces that the structure generates at the base to determine the quantity and size of the anchors. We use wedge, epoxy, or chem-stud anchors to secure the base plates to the foundation.
- Wood Decks/Platforms: The Mahaffey base plate can be secured to the wood deck by using properly dimensioned through-bolts. Additional engineering and site evaluations may be required to assess the integrity of the wood.
- Non-Staking/Concrete Weighting System: There are some situations when our clients prefer not to install anchoring into the ground or it is not allowed by public works. We can install temporary ballast systems to resist the forces generated by the structure. These proprietary systems work to secure temporary structures of every size.
