Clear Span Structures Mahaffey introduced the Super Series to the North American market
in 1981. Since then, it has been used thousands of times for
every imaginable military application, including AAR/TOC Tents, DFAC
Buildings, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Facilities,
Security Checkpoints, and more. The hollow, aluminum box beam
uses an ingenious groove in each of the four corners. A fabric
welt, called keder, slides into the grooves in the box beam.
The result is a lightweight fabric structure that can be rapidly
installed and withstand severe weather conditions. The MegaStructure is similar to the Super Series in that it uses
hollow aluminum box beams. These beams are extruded with keder
grooves in each of the four corners, which allows the fabric to be
quickly and securely fastened to the frame. MegaStructures are
distinguished by the large dimensions of the extrusion itself -
4.75" x 13.5". This extrusion is reinforced in all
critical areas with a massive aluminum I-beam. |
