The United States was changed forever after the
9/11 terrorist attacks. Suddenly our government installations,
military bases, and other public facilities were seen as vulnerable,
and perimeter security was strengthened everywhere. Virtually
overnight new security checkpoints and vehicle inspection
stations were necessary.
Mahaffey has been able to provide
temporary and semi-permanent shelters to keep members of our
law enforcement personnel out of the weather. Our structures
keep officers and military police dry in the rain, warmer
in the winter, and cooler in the summer - allowing them to
concentrate on threat detection.
Mahaffey Fabric Structures are quickly installed and designed specifically to combat challenging weather conditions. These shelters range in size from 33' up to 164' wide, and the modular design allows virtually unlimited lengths. Our warehouse structures can be erected on almost any surface - asphalt, concrete, or soil - without the need of a permanent foundation. They are erected and dismantled quickly and can be configured in any size. Mahaffey offers temporary checkpoint shelters with 13' eave heights and semi-permanent shelters with 15' or 20' side heights (with superior wind and snow load capability). The fabric membrane roofs are typically made of translucent fabric so that no interior lighting is needed during the day. The sides can be made of mesh fabric to allow free air circulation. Other side options are clear fabric or none at all, so that enemy combatants can't approach the structure unobserved.
Whether your need is temporary or semi-permanent, Mahaffey's temporary security shelters can be made larger or smaller to adapt to your evolving needs. This allows a basic structure to retain its value, as it isn't rendered obsolete if it is too small. The length can be changed by easily adding sections known as "bays." |
