Mahaffey has perfected our disaster recovery products by field-testing
structures with Army units training for overseas missions.
Military applications typically use multiple
portable structures configured as temporary cities equipped
to feed and house 1,600 soldiers. Each temporary building
is equipped with a raised wood sub-floor, HVAC, lighting,
power outlets, and life safety accessories. In the private
sector, Mahaffey can install structures within days of your
call - putting businesses back in business at their same location.
Following a fire, flood, or other disaster, your firm must
respond quickly before the crises becomes fatal. We have many
portable buildings that can be loaded in hours and dispatched
to be on site in only days. After Hurricane Andrew hit Homestead,
Florida, Mahaffey assisted AT&T in establishing a long-distance
call center. Mahaffey set up an 82' x 82' structure for AT&T so that stricken residents could call their loved ones free
of charge. The logo emblazoned shelter remained in place for
several months.
Mahaffey has also been retained by Home Depot as part of their business continuity plan. When
Hurricane Floyd was sweeping up the Eastern seaboard, a Mahaffey crew was dispatched to Atlanta,
Georgia until the storm made landfall. The crew had a portable storage shelter loaded to replace a
store if one was damaged. If not, the shelter could be used as emergency housing for community
residents. Fortunately, the Home Depot stores were unscathed and damage to local housing was
minimal. |
